Maybe it's just the inevitable book two of a trilogy problem where you know what's going on from book one (it's interesting!) and it isn't fully resolved because there needs to be something left to happen in book three (the big showdown with the bad guy!), but this one didn't move me as a much as a Nora book usually does. (I gave 5 stars to the first book.) It's fine, and there's lots of nice Irish moments with friends, good food, singing, horses, hawks, and the love story, but Connor and Meara just weren't that memorable of a couple for me. He's really nice, she has family of origin issues, but there's never any real doubt that they'll be together.
