Trinity: Military War Dog is an excellent, well-written novel. It is exciting and full of suspense with some romantic undercurrents. I also love the many moments of humoreven in dire situations. Trinity: Military War Dog includes spies and counterspies in unfriendly territory. The harsh elements and topography of Afghanistan play significant rolls in this story. Whether characters are in an underground cave or slogging through the snow, the story is so real and the emotional level so high, I felt as if I were right there in the midst of the action.
I love the characters, especially Trinity and her partner, Heath Daniels. The author masterfully imbues Trinity with the characteristics and personality of a true and faithful soldier and partner. I imagine every reader will admire her dedication and singular focus. Heath is an extremely complex and well-developed character, along with being a very appealing hero. In a quick glance, he seems to have it allgood looks, strength, confidence and purpose, but underneath the facade, readers have the pleasure of getting to know the real man. It is an interesting journey.
The spiritual themes of trust and faith are significant to the story. Both Heath Daniels and Darci Kintz have decisions to make, and steps to take toward spiritual maturity.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes action-filled, contemporary fiction packaged in a well-written story of depth and fortitude.
