Millicent Frost is in hot water with her boss at the Homeland Defense Department due to some interference from Scott Terentson, an attorney she once worked with on a Deep Ops assignment. Her day just gets worse when she returns to her family home and wakes up in a strange bed covered in blood. Beside her is her ex-boyfriend, Clay Baker...and he's dead. After being arrested for murder, Millie calls Scott, asking for his help. Scott drops everything to go to Millie and help discover who killed Clay, a rival businessman who had a number of people who wanted him dead. An attack on Scott and Millie showed that Clay wasn't the only person someone wants dead.

This is the sixth (and hopefully not last) book in Zanetti's Deep Ops series. Both Millie and Scott have appeared in previous books in the series. They are both likeable characters and they have great chemistry together. The story is fast paced and kept my interest. I had no idea who was behind the murder and was shocked when the identity of the killer was revealed. I certainly didn't see that coming. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
