My 4 stars go solely to the Kate Steele story. It might be a 4+. This was the first thing of hers I've read and it was gripping. The writing was better than the standard Ellora's Cave stuff. Both characters were likable, and even though the hero started out grouchy, we quickly understood why and he made amends. The dialogue between him and some of his fellow shifters was funny.

When I first read the blurbs, this was the one I liked the least. Just reading "werebear" made me laugh and not in a good way. But after reading the story I am now looking for more work by this author now.

As for the other two stories. My least favorite thing I've read by Copeland was her entry in this anthology. The characters and storyline were flat. I just didn't care what happened to either of them. The middle story, by Tunstall just missed the mark. Parts of it were interesting, and it had promise, but it went unfulfilled.

This book is worth reading for Kate's story.
