Re-reading the entire series and I liked this book BETTER the second time than the first. Knowing what happens later in the series with the core characters of this story (Rhage and Mary) and also with Zsadist, Belle, Phury, Butch, John Matthew and Vhishious makes the story all the more delicious. I loved Rhage more this time, Mary's appeal was stronger and their love story more believable to me. As with the previous book, however, I was able to easily skip every section with the Lessers without any interruption to the narrative. I think the Lessers story takes away from the action and it is my one quibble with J.R. Ward. Even in first reading, when I got to the last couple of books, I only skimmed the sections about the Lessers.
