Like all teenage girls, Aly, daughter of Alanna and George, is stubborn and fights with her mother. Only this time Aly decides to leave on a short adventure to give her parents time to be alone after their year-long separation. Unfortunately for Aly, she is taken prisoner by pirates and sold into slavery. Aly had been trying to convince her spy father to let her be a spy as well, with no success. Now however, in order to survive captivity, she must use all her skills and maybe finally convince her father that she actually is equipped to be a spy. When the trickster god, Kyprioth appears to Aly with a deal, she grabs it with both hands. Then her adventure really begins.

It's an interesting story but it dragged forever in the middle of the book and I totally lost interest. It was just day-in-the-life stuff that got tedious real quick and never seemed to be getting anywhere. I won't be reading the sequel as I know I would never get through another 400+ pages of this storyline.
