If you haven't read the other Incarnations of Immortality books recently, I think you'll be a bit lost in this one. The plot is a rehashing of things that happened in other books, from a different perspective and with additional information. The main character is thinly drawn and not particularly likable. There's a lot of sex, but it isn't graphic or titillating, it's matter-of-fact and I think you'll find yourself just skipping over it.
Overall the book is disappointing - I thought the first IoI book (On a Pale Horse) was really clever and different, a good read - they've gone downhill steadily to arrive at this sad 220-page number. Unless this falls into your lap and you have a few spare hours, and you REALLY want to know more about the IoI world - I wouldn't bother.
