Tempting the Beast is definitely on my "I can give up a few hours of sleep tonight to finish this great page-turner" list. It is a favorite fast-paced, sensuous, romance filled with steamy sex, military bad guys, 'mad scientists manipulating genetics', government officials, high-power media moguls along with friends and families--both human and Breed. Lora Leigh shows her extraordinary skills in creating this multi-faceted world--that at first may seem medically far-fetched--until I considered that horses have been selectively bred since several centuries BC and today's geneticists also perform some mind-boggling experiments in the name of research. This book is just as fun to read the fifth time around--plus, I have picked up tons of plot clues introduced for themes developed in subsequent books--even 10 books later in the Series! You will continue to see the strong, courageous and insightful personalities of Callan and Merinus as they provide the back-bone for the Breeds' seemingly insurmountable future challenges in this ongoing series.
