I disliked this book very much. I picked it up to read to my children after seeing so many great reviews. The writing is terrible. It is difficult to find the words for how bad it is. It's a cross between unbelievably corny and freaky scary. I don't think the content is at all appropriate for younger, sensitive children. Give your family the gift of A.A. Milne, L.Frank Baum, C.S. Lewis, Carolyn Keene (classic Nancy Drew), G.A. Henty, Ralph Moody, James Herriot, Robert Louis Stevenson,Rudyard Kipling. and Brian Jacques.
