D.I. Kim Stone and D.S. Bryant are called out when a body is found in an abandoned warehouse. The man was stripped, tied down, and literally roasted alive. As the team begins gathering information about the victim, they learn that his family has pulled up stakes and left town in a hurry. While trying to track down the family, another tortured body is discovered.

Meanwhile, reporter Tracy Frost has become interested in the Trisha Morley murder case. Trisha's husband, Nick Morley, was arrested for her murder but his trial ended in a mistrial. With a new trial just days away, Nick has hired a PR firm which is effectively rehabilitating his image. Tracy wants to make sure everyone remembers the victim of this crime. She proposes doing a serial of stories to remind the public about what happened to Trisha.

This is the 14th book in the series and it's still going strong. I loved the mystery and thought I knew the identity of the killer. I was wrong...again. The murders were very graphic, so some readers may not like that. I loved Kim and Tracy Frost's scenes in this book, especially when Kim helps her out. I highly recommend this book (and series). My rating: 4.5 Stars.
