This was a excellent story. I am fascinated by stories that take place in India as it is a country that is so unique. This story was so compelling. A woman living in India in the 1930's-1940's who is able to convince her husband to allow her to learn English and to teach after she is a married woman with children. It was unheard of at that time. Amisha was an amazing character. What happens throughout the course of the book will break your heart.
