Not my favorite in the series, but it solves the Connor problem (namely that he hates all his friends falling in love with mortal women). At this point I have found I'm just reading the "Love at Stake" books for the story, not for the romance. This one definitely moved the world along! Some shocking things happened! Glad Ms.Sparks can keep her characters changing. I look forward to the next one - but she's running out of men!
Side note: For some reason I couldn't get "Send me an Angel" by Erasure out of my head after reading this one... weird, huh? ^_^
