This is a re-release of Brockmann' earlier book. I believe Prince Joe was the first Navy SEAL story Brockmann wrote.

Prince Joe was okay. It was actually very slow and I keep wishing there were more scenes of Veronica doing her stuff. Instead she ended up being the pretty background girl which isn't how her role started. She was a great character and this story gave some great background to what happened to Frisco. Joe was a bit annoying with his repeated accusation that Veronica was slumming it by being with him. For the amount of time he spent saying Veronica was an aristocrat, nothing in the story or Veronica's demeanor showed that. In the story she was actually very down to earth. There are a of romantic misses which was a bit frustrating. But it was still a decent story.

Forever Blue was a better story, very fast paced and a little bit different. But you have to suspend your reality belief for a bit because there is no way a murder investigator will share a place with a suspect. Other than that, it was a good story. I absolutely loved Lucy. She was such a awesome "go-to" girl, completely opposite of what Veronica was in Joe's story. She definitely was not background fluff but totally active in the action. Blue was awesome with her. Again you have to suspend disbelief a bit, even in the end when you get a full confession, but it was such a fun read.

Worthwhile read. I haven't read the whole series, maybe halfway through and looking forward to it.
