First in a trilogy, aimed at teens, but excellent reading for adults as well. This book introduces us to the characters and the magics in the world they live in. The motivations are believable and the plot is designed to pull the reader along the road to discovery with Reason. It ends not exactly with a cliffhanger, but certainly leaving you ready to pick up the next book to see where it leads.
