I am a fan of Linda Lael Miller but this book fell short. The hero is one dimensional and lacks any personality at all and the heroine though has just a little more personality - but not much.

Kristin Meyers grew up with Prince Jascha in Cabriz and was always smitten with him. She ends up moving back to America to attend college and meets up with Zachary Harmon. She falls for Zachary and their affair ends in heartbreak for Kristin. Prince Jascha happens to show up and seduces her until she agrees to marry him. The Prince and Kristin return to Cabriz. Her fairy tale is about to come true.

Near her wedding to the Prince two events happen 1)there is about to be a civil war in Cabriz and 2) her future husband has a dark side and has lied to her and considers her a puta (whore).

Zachary travels to Cabriz to rescue Kristin. There is a jungle adventure that includes rebels, kidnappings, ransom and rescue.

Kristin and Zachary try to rekindle their relationship while trying to escape Prince Jascha, but can they? Is there any future for them? Will the Prince capture them and kill Zachary? Will they escape? What does the future hold?
