From the back cover: "Katie Welker is used to being alone. She would much rather read a book than deal with other people. Other people don't have silver eyes and other peopole can't make things happen just by thinking about them! Sometimes Katie even enjoys playing tricks on people.
But these special powers make Katie different and it's not easy to make friends when you're different. It's even harder when you think that people are going to put you in jail. Katie overhears a neighbor saying that she may have been the cause of her grandmother's death! Katie KNOWS she's different but she's never tried to hurt anyone. She runs away and manaages to locate other children who have silver eyes-like her. But she's still in trouble. Can her newfound friends help her? Should they use their special powers?
