The authors in this book try to use science to explain the powers and technology of the X-Men. You do not have to be a fan of the X-men to read this book but you might enjoy it more if you were. I found a lot of the theories interesting. I did notice that a lot of the theories were repetitive (Occam's Razor and personal black holes). I'm not sure how much research went into this book since neither authors are PHD's. At times I felt that they knew a couple of theories and tried to apply them to each character. It reads like a "fanboy's" book on the X-Men's powers.
