Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Leslie.

This third installment of the Alpha and Omega series begins with an introduction to wicked fae and an innocent little girl. The prologue quickly returns us to the Marrok, Charles and Anna. Charles has become withdrawn due to his role as the Wolfkiller and Anna is looking for a way to help him. The two reconnect their bond while hunting a serial killer in Boston. The sweet little girl from the prologue is now an FBI agent and the lead liaison between the agency and the werewolves.

I really enjoyed the interaction between the fae and the werewolves in this book. The storyline is strong and makes you want to continue reading until you discover who the real enemy is. I liked that Anna has stepped up to her potential as Omega. The characters, mundane and magical alike, were well portrayed and each was given a believable voice. You don't need to read the Mercy Thompson series to read this one but it certainly gives it more depth.

I waited far too long between books in this series. I look forward to the next installment. A most enjoyable read and highly recommended.
