Well-written boys' serial mystery story. This book is a who-dunnit featuring Ken and his friend Sandy, who work at a newspaper office, drive a fast midcentury sports car, and explore remote locales such as a railroad bridge in a marsh and the shell of an abandoned inn. In this volume the boys (and readers) learn something of railroad semaphores, birdwatching, and the newspaper, fine art and antiques industries. Kids and adults who enjoy fast-paced twentieth-century mysteries will find this a great read!
