This anthology contains four stories:
Lora Leigh's "The Devil's Due:" Not for someone who has never read the Breed series. You would be lost. Leigh's writing has gone downhill over the years. This was no different but it is slightly better then the last few things she has released. The writing was all over the place and for such a huge introduction of how special Kate was, Leigh didn't do much with it. There was zero emotional development outside of mating heat so Kate and Devil's interludes seemed rather shallow. It doesn't matter how many times they exchange vows of love, it wasn't there.
Alyssa Day's "The Curse of the Black Swan:" I don't think I have read Day before but I look forward to reading more of her stuff. Absolutely great short story with a humor, quirky characters, and enough mystery to make it more interesting. It's very light-hearted and sweet. My only complaint was that there wasn't much explanation of how things were resolved. Maybe it will be revealed in other books?
Meljean Brook's "Salvage:" Absolutely horrible, annoying story of really stupid people. Thom=she deserves more so I'm going to leave her to get her more stuff, plus I feel bad because her first time having sex with me hurt. Georgiana= he is always leaving me and all I wanted is for him to stay and have sex with me forever. Repeat for the next few chapters. I didn't finish the story.
Lucy Monroe's "Ecstasy Under the Moon:" I forgot about this series and am glad to find it again. The story was nothing special though but not bad. Una seemed to recover from her trauma a bit too easily. It was enjoyable enough.
Overall three stars because two of the stories were pretty good and two were not so great.
