This was a lot like her vampire series which I disliked as well. The writing was confusing and the dialogue was dull. I know McCarty tried to pass Isaiah as the strong, silent, tormented type but he just came across as really wooden. Kind of like K. Reeves in "Dracula" minus the bad accent.
I really couldn't even finish it pass several chapters. Definitely skip it.
