I'm a big Tess Gerritsen fan, but I can't say this installment was all that great for me. The story felt more contrived than necessary. And although it was original and suspenseful right up to the end, I'm not really sure how I feel about it.
Wish there'd been a bit more Maura Isles, though. It was nice to see that she's keeping a relationship with Rat from Ice Cold.
Overall, THE SILENT GIRL started off well and ended with a nice twist, but I'm so over the cliché of Jane or Maura being captured when we know nothing's going to happen to them. Surely there are more original routes for climax.
