When Kate catches her fiance' having an affair with one of his students, she flies home to San Diego to deal with everything. While on an outing with some friends to the Mission de Alcala, Kate meets a mysterious stranger and feels an immediate connection with him. After exchanging a few pleasantries they both go their separate ways.

Calisto Terana is a Night Walker who spends his days dead to the world and his nights roaming the skies. For close to 240 years he has mourned the death of his true love Tala. Tala was the love of his life and he became a Night Walker so he could one day be reunited with a reincarnated Tala. When Calisto spots Kate he immediately recognizes her as his precious Tala and seeks an introduction. Not wanting to lose anytime with Kate he begins to court her.

Since Kate is just getting out of a relationship and not looking for anything serious, but she can't deny that she is developing strong feelings for Calisto and fast. Both Kate and Calisto jump into this whirlwind of a relationship feet first. Kate quickly moves in and spends every night with Calisto. Since Calisto is a Night Walker and Kate is unaware, Calisto has explained that he is away on business.

When a past threat makes itself known to Calisto, he does everything in his power to save Kate. He still feels immense guilt over what happened with Tala and he doesn't want to risk losing Kate too.

This was an excellent story. I was lost in the mythical Night Walker world the author created. I enjoyed both the characters of Kate and Calisto and I was excited to see them get their HEA. I just found out that there will be more book set in this world and I have to say that I can't wait. I'm eagerly awaiting the next story from this author.
