The surprising thing about this book is how hard Walt Disney had to work to sell himself and his ideas. He failed almost as much as he succeeded. I remember watching Disney on television, telling viewers about Disneyland as though it were a 'done-deal.' It wasn't; he was still struggling with the project, yet he was so smooth about his vision of what it would be. This book also shows the reader just how original cartooning was when Disney was trying to sell his ideas.

Disney was not easy to work for; I remember hearing that years ago. This book isn't shy about explaining why and how Disney became more distant with his employees. I thought this was a well-balanced look at an interesting man.
