I knew I was going to like this book less than 10 pages in. A hospice nurse finds a locket at an Estate Sale and is transported to Sang. Sang is an alternate universe and also about 100 years behind us. Then we meet Criminy Stain. (Its a bit of a ridiculous name but bear with me) Tish, our MC, meets him immediately.

There are bludmen, bludbunnies (which still tickles me a bit), bludrats, and pretty much anything else blud-you can think of. Except birds, because apparently, thats just silly. :) Carnival folk and real magic round out this new world and its inhabitants.

Criminy is, in his words, a gypsy. A rogue. As wicked as they come. and that was when I realized that I was completely in love with this character.

Ive deleted half of this review at least twice because of spoilers. But I could go on and on. I fell into this reality and didnt want to come out.
