First thing you need to know. It isn't a Tom Clancy novel. It is a play on one of his concepts perhaps, but the author David Michaels uses the framework to get in as many episodes of killing, maiming and introspection as he could. Sure there were depictions of honesty, bravery and heroism, but not enough to save this novel.
Personally, as I'm not a player of the game this book is intended to mimic, I found it to be a waste of my time for reading. Perhaps if Mr. Michaels were to write a stand-alone novel with a real plot and real characters, I'd be inclined to read another of his works. As it stands, the hook to Tom Clancy drew me in and I was sorely disappointed in what I read.
