This book is so much more than the story of the insurrection and Trump's second impeachment. The author was a constitutional law professor for many years, and outlines that Trump clearly had a plan with multiple contingencies to remain in power, and explains the legal loopholes that he was trying to exploit to do so.
About a week before the insurrection, Jamie Raskin's only son committed suicide after a long battle with mental illness. He writes candidly about how this impacted him, his family, and others who loved his son, and how the person his son was inspired and helped his work as impeachment manager during a very difficult time.
The book does feel a tad long in some places, but overall it is an excellent resource for those of us still trying to understand how January 6th could have happened.
