I was rather disappointed in this book. I absolutely loved the first two in the series but this was a real let down. I didn't like any of the main characters and found it difficult to connect with any of them. Levi Tremaine is a sea-serpent shifter (yuk). Captain Natasha Cole is hiding something from Levi and holds herself back as well. And don't even get me started on sleaze ball Roman DuValle! Rachel and Nathan Cross as well as Connor Rihyad and Teryn appear about halfway through the book and liven it up some but still not enough to warrant 4 stars.

There is a war on between the gargoyles who want to continue to protect humans as they were made to do and the gargoyles who want world dominion (like Roman DuValle). They are descended from gargoyles but they do not shift into gargoyles themselves. They take many forms and i don't mean cats and wolves either. (horned birds, bird-bear hybrids, pigs, flying rats and all kinds of unnameables). These are not shifters any lady would want to sleep with. yuk! Even Levi is a giant sea serpent along the lines of the Loch Ness monster. yikes imagine taking a shower/bath with him and getting the surprise of your life. The series obviously continues but I'm not so sure I will be continuing as it's really going in a different direction which really isn't very interesting.
