Definitely at least read the last book if you want to keep up with this one. She tries to make it a standalone with some explanations but it's isn't enough.
Elina can be a bit of a downer and she reminds me a little bit of Sabina from her Pride series. But I did laugh and laugh at some of the cruel things they did to each other. Gratuitous violence with humor doesn't get much better than this.
The twins, Rhi, and Frederik are young adults now and I can't wait to read their stories in the future. I wasn't quite sure where she was going to go with this series before. After reading this I'm excited.
