I really liked the decluttering idea. Think of how many ways your protagonist could get in trouble with that. Also liked the idea that Emily is married to a hoarder, but keeps her hands off his stuff. Aside from that, I found it slow going. The plot is laid out in the book description (there's a slight deviation in the classic plot, but it's obvious), so there is no mystery for the reader. Then it's a question of suspense. Ephron does the suspense by making Emily so incredibly naive I couldn't believe in her. I kept saying to myself, "People in murder mysteries don't KNOW they're in murder mysteries" but it didn't help. There was no need for Becca, unless Ephron is going to make a series out of this. Lila was great though. I also thought the Murphy plot was too much complication. But all in all, if it were a series, Emily and Lila have potential, and I'd try another one.
