Part of the White series from this author. Unlike some of the other books in this series, it does not need to be read in order. Characters from other books are mentioned but are not key to advancing the storyline.
Mattie was responsible for raising her younger brothers and sisters after the murder of their parents. In a tragic accident she is blinded and loses her "gift" of being able to dream about the future. When the dreams return it is about the same time that a series of events are occurring that seem to point to someone's desire to kill Mattie and/or her siblings and/or to scare them away. Reed is a man without hope who is seeking revenge for himself and others for an event that was beyond his control. When he meets Mattie, she "knows" that he is meant to be in her life and she also "knows" that she can help him regain the hope and love he thought was lost. A tender love story with a couple of unique twist that I did not see coming. I would recommend this book.
