Just can't seem to go wrong with Robyn Carr books. This single title romance is another one that is sure to please.
Jennifer Chaise is a mistress in every since of the word. She has created a beautiful exterior that men love to love. Her entire adult life has been lived in the arms of older wealthy men who, though often married, gave her all the luxuries that she assumed made her life the happy existance it is. WRONG.
She overseas her current squeeze in a fight with his wife and the next thing she knows the wife is dead and she is on the run. After hiding out in a small town outside Vegas, she begins to make some friends and builds a new life for herself in a world of paycheck to paycheck and Walmart chic.... the world she thought she had left behind. But the funny thing is that Jennifer suddenly realizes that she is happy living the simple life - so happy that she wonders what in the world she saw in the fake life she had before.
Along the way she befriends Nick Noble, the next door neighbor and Vegas cop. She is on the run and afraid to talk. He knows she isn't who she claims and just wants to find out how to help her break free. All the while sparks fly when they are together and the world seems a little less bright when they are apart.
Another great story from Ms. Carr. This one kind of jumps in fast and Jennifer takes her "new look" to unneeded extremes, but once you look past that it is a fantastic story with lots of humor, friendship and love.
