Wow, I am so impressed with the depth of emotional intimacy Daniel and Eleanor shared. Daniel especially made some remarkable self-realizations that broadened his capacity to receive love in a way he never thought could happen. I enjoyed watching him grow, taking chances to reveal his darker, secret inadequacies, failures, and even shame. Even the subplot (the search for his lost friend) was a good foil for Daniel's development as it helped to humanize him in my eyes. Eleanor was independent, feisty, and ambitious, all characteristics that could easily have made her obnoxious and pushy but instead made her good-natured, resourceful, and witty.
Their limerick challenge was cleverly entertaining and super sexy. A time or two, I thought Eleanor's behavior and speech was a little modern, but it really didn't bother me. Those two not only shared exciting adventures, but they also burned up page after page of hot, smoldering love scenes. Whew! Daniel and Eleanor were so well matched that I was entirely swept away by their love affair. Forever Your Earl is a fabulously satisfying story and worthy of five stars.
