Until reading this book, I was never sure how close the Nazis were to developing a bomb. In reality, they weren't; the Nazis were concentrating on creating nuclear reactors rather than nuclear bombs. I wasn't familiar with Werner Heisenberg, mostly because he stayed in Germany during World War II and kept his head down. He was repatriated after the war (because he was cleared of wrongdoing) and returned to Germany. He lived out his life there. This book was more enjoyable than I expected because I knew nothing about quantum physics (but that isn't necessary to understand the book).
