I read the first in this series and this one is just as good. Piper Donovan is getting closer with Jack, expanding her cake making, still dealing with her mother's health problems and of course she's finding herself smack dab in the middle of another mystery. If you liked the first in the wedding cake series you will like this second installment. If you haven't read the first you don't have to, to come in and understand the characters.

If you like cozy type mysteries you should like this one. I love the way Mary Jane Clark gives you very small glimpses into the antagonist's mind and what they are thinking, bit by bit. She doesn't let too much be known too quickly about the bad guy. I also like the short chapters. I only have a small window of time before I go to work in the morning to read and I like being able to quickly read a chapter.

The only thing that annoys me a bit about the main character Piper is that she can seem a bit shallow at times. Nothing that I can't deal with though.

I'd recommend to cozy lovers or someone who likes light mysteries.
