I enjoyed the first chapter, although I don't agree with all of his conclusions. He take a more modern view of the biblical text than I. In the rest of the book he seems to mix the Text with Historical writings and then adds a incoherent jumble of words from his own dreams. I think the Rebel, the Rabbi, the Chronicler, and the Mystic is figment of his own imagination, not from any thing learned from the Biblical text.
