Douglas has a new take on the idea of the paranormal coming out of the closet. At the change of the millenium, werewolves, vampires, zombies all appeared on the current scene, and results weren't always peaceful. Witches with psychic powers also emerged, along with others whose origin and powers are almost totally unknown.
Vampires and werewolves are feuding over the ownership of the lucrative territory of Las Vegas, the Sin City, and the losers will most likely be eaten.
Delilah Street, an investigative reporter with issues of her own, gets caught up in the middle of the Vampire/Werewolf battle, and does her best to avoid becoming anyone's snack food.
This is the first of a planned series, and the author has perhaps tried to introduce a little too many new ideas at once. The story is a good one, but there are some odd loose ends and still many mysteries unsolved... Which may well be deliberate to leave room for the upcoming volumes to clear up.
