ISBN 0439330408 - As I try to start in on the pile of Easter books in the corner, a few Christmas books pop up and I can't wait another 9 months to read them. Mooseltoe makes me very glad that I didn't!

Mr. Moose is determined to have a perfectly perfect Christmas. He does, and over-does, everything just right, from shopping to baking and from writing cards to decking the halls. On Christmas Eve, as the family appreciates his efforts, they notice one glaring problem: they have no tree! A frantic search of the whole town turns up no tree for his family, but Mr. Moose has an excellent - and funny! - solution.

Author Margie Palatini, sometimes in rhyme and sometimes not, manages to create a frantic feel to the pace Mr. Moose sets for his holiday preparations without making the story unreadable. The style reminds me, quite a bit, of The Grinch. The illustrations, by Henry Cole are excellent - the fun he must have had with that mustache! I like Mr. Moose so much that I now have to go get myself a copy of ISBN 0786811706 Moosetache.
