I've always been a Willie Brown fan, ever since I went to Sacramento with my 8th grade class in 1971, and he was giving a speech on the Assembly floor which all other members were ignoring (how rude). I was out of the state during his power years, 1982 to 1995, so that part was interesting to me. Anyway, I perused the book, and I didn't see any signs of false modesty.
