I was totally enthralled with this one and didn't expect to since Declan was such a hateful character to begin with. He continues to be hateful most of the book but somehow towards the end I was cheering for him. The book takes a bit to warm up to.
This wasn't as funny as Cole's other books but with the subject matter I could see why. I loved that you get beneath Regin's reckless happy-go-lucky character. I thought this book moved quickly even though it was long book. It was a very action packed book.
Nix, again was amazing. She had all the funny lines. I really think she should get together with Lothaire. What a fun match but alas I don't think that is where Cole is heading.
Usually I would recommend you read the first two stories and then read them as you like. But with this one, I think you really need to read Lucia's story first to get the full understanding of the relationship between Lucia and Regin plus what the deal with he mummy is.
