Honestly, when compared with her Atlantis series - the Lords of the Underworld are by far the better!!! Her Atlantis series is practically neanderthalian in plot.
Sabin, the bearer of Doubt and the leader of the immortal warriors who had once decided to fight against the humans who killed his friend the bearer of Distrust, has rejoined with Lucien and the warriors who no longer wished to fight the human Hunters. Sabin has long since given up on ever finding a woman, since his demon often sends them running due to doubts about themselves. But all of that begins to change when he finds and frees a group of immortal females who are imprisoned by the human Hunters. All but one have been raped and impregnated so that when they give birth, the children will be taken from their mother to be raised and trained as immortal Hunters.
The only one who has not been raped is a small insecure harpy. Now harpy's are supposed to be mean, ugly and foul, right? Apparently not. They are only thought to be that way because 1) they are strong and incredibly fast, 2) they have volitile tempers, 3) the are blood thirsty, and 4) the only way they can survive is by either stealing their food or earning it. So why is this one little harpy so insecure? She half angel.(or so they believe.)
But sabin soon learns there is more to this little harpy than meets the eye. And the demon of Doubt learns that it is not always best to make a harpy nervous, jealous or upset!
