I have never read Palmer before. Usually my taste runs a little bit edgier and less about god, but I found this story very sweet and sexy without being dirty.
Palmer did a very good job making Gil into a likeable jerk. I have no idea how she did it but if I really listened to everything Gil said to Kasie, I would have no idea why she liked him other than he was a good kisser. He said awful things to Kasie but usually ended with a scorching kiss to make up for it. Somehow it translated to tortured sexy soul while any other writer Gil would have come across as a verbally abusive jackass.
Kasie was so very nice, maybe too nice. She wasn't the smartest tool in the shed (really, you are going to leave the kids to be watched by Pauline the secretary who obviously hates them?). But she bantered quite nicely with Gil and that made up for her lack of a backbone towards Pauline.
Very quick, easy read. Everything wraps up nicely in a fairy tale ending. I hope her other books are just as good.
