It definitely helps to have read at least one of the Gower Street Detective books in order to fully appreciate the humor, idiocy and incompetence that describes many of the characters in this book. Betty Church tries to maintain a semblance of sanity in the midst of all this since she is, after all, trying to solve a murder case. This book has you laughing one moment and worrying the next. I think Kasasian belongs to a league all his own and I definitely enjoy reading his books as a change of pace!
