A profoundly moving novel about two neighboring families in a suburban town, the friendship between their children, a tragedy that reverberates over four decades, the daily intimacies of marriage, and the power of forgiveness. âWe repeat what we do not repair.' How can we escape the damage done to us in the past? Can the power of love and redemption make us worthy of forgiveness? This is a coming of age book with addiction and mental health issues. The characters are well drawn and the plot has a lot of depth it has beautiful writing with a nice pace. I look forward to reading more by this author. Recommended.
