a keeper for my African library.... His accounts, although fictional, are, to be sure, what is happening or has happened in the various countries of Africa . Having these stories come from the viewpoint of the children affected by their circumstances is the reason this compolation of short stories is so vivid and heartbreaking. I've read about the hutu/tutsi conflict and the child soldiers, the slums of Kenya before and these stories are simply reinforcemet tor the plight of children of the world. very good writing, very real involvement. I listened to this book and as always "foreign" accents help bring the characters into focas.
