This book definitely wasn't as good as I expected it to be. It's one instance when I judged a book by it's cover and was wrong. The cover and the pictures throughout the book are brilliant. The story unfortunately does not live up to the pictures themselves. It wasn't a bad read just not a great one either.
It's about a boy named Jacob whose grandfather tells him far-fetched stories. When Jacob was little he believed him but as he grew older he realized that his grandfather's tales where too "out there" to be believable. That is until something happens to his grandfather and, for Jacob's sanity, he decides to do a little research into his grandfather's stories.
Like I said, the book wasn't horrible. It went at an even pace. It just didn't seem to grab me at any point. It was just a story that trundled on. There were a few exciting parts but even they weren't enough to make me want to keep my nose in the book. I did love the photographs though. Would have enjoyed a book just full of them rather than this one.
