Meg Patton, single mother and the newest deputy of the Elk Springs Sheriff's Department, has finally come home.
It's time for Meg to reconcile with her sisters-and past time to introduce them to her son. It might even be the right time to let herself fall in love.
And even though she wasn't looking for one, she's found a likely candidate for the last part. Scott McNeil discovered an abandoned baby one night, and Meg was the office called to investigate. She's attracted to him from the start-he's goodlooking and great with the baby. So when the baby's mother is found dead, Meg must prove he's innocent, because she knows he can't be guilty.
And she has to prove it-they have to prove it- for her sake, as well as his.
