Nina Reilly, a criminal lawyer, is asked to assist an aging partner from a law firm that she clerked for when she was in law school. The client appears to be an unlucky small-time offender who agreed to rob a grave for $1,000, stealing the bones of a long-buried Russian emigre. But the body of a young woman is also found in the grave and Nina's client's DNA is found in her apartment, so it appears that he may be guilty of a much more heinous crime, murder.
