On the morning of Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth anniversary, Amy disappears without a trace. The livingroom shows signs of a struggle. There are traces of blood in the kitchen. The police investigators are looking at Nick as a suspect. As the evidence mounts, it becomes apparent that Nick has told a series of lies. But did he kill his wife?
I liked that this story is written in a narrative format with alternating points of view. In the chapters featuring Nick, we get to see the investigation and evidence. In Amy's chapters, we see her diary entries and learn about their relationship the past five years. There were lots of twists in the story which kept me turning the pages.
What I did not like is that all of the characters were very unlikeable, to the point where I didn't know who to root for. And the end of the book stunk. What a disappointment. So, I'm giving this book two stars for keeping me interested despite the fact that the only character I liked was the defense attorney. My rating: 2 Stars.
