Charlotte Harris, owner of Mrs. Harris's School for Young Ladies, is worried that no one will send their daughters to her school when a racecourse is built on the neighboring property. She doesn't have the money to purchase the property herself or move the school, and her benefactor, Cousin Michael, hasn't been heard from in months. Charlotte is shocked when David Masters shows up at her door. She and David were nearly engaged 18 years ago when a big misunderstanding broke her heart and a big mistake left David to public ridicule. David tells her about the money left to the school in his late wife's will. Charlotte finds it doubtful that Sarah would leave any money to the school. She also regrets her actions in the past and wants to make it up to David.

In the last book in the School for Heiresses series, we finally find out the identity of Cousin Michael. The highlight of the series have been the short notes at the beginning of each chapter between Charlotte and her unidentified benefactor known as Cousin Michael. Finding out who he is and why he did not want her to know his identity was worth the wait. My rating: 4 Stars.
